City Walk is set to mark the 47th UAE National Day with an exciting line-up of family-friendly activities and entertainment acts.
Starting from 1 to 3 December, visitors will witness traditional Emirati Al Ayala and Al Harbiya dance performances in celebration of UAE’s heritage, honouring the nation’s founders.
A sea of national flags welcomes visitors to City Walk who will also be greeted with giveaways, such as flags and pins during the days of celebration.
A key highlight of the occasion will be a tribute to the founding father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by Saray Perfumes, in the form of a portrait using rare incense wood and bakhour. The portrait will be unveiled on 2 December and displayed at a central location in City Walk, aligning with the official theme of the 47th UAE National Day celebration — “This is Zayed. This is the UAE”.
Starting from 29 November to 3 December, a range of fun UAE-themed art and craft workshops and face painting sessions will also be held at the dedicated workshop area, set up near the fountain and in front of Godiva. Henna artists will also be available to offer traditional decorative patterns to visitors.
Visitors are welcome to express their pride in the nation’s achievements by adding their handprints to an interactive mural in the colours of the UAE national flag, and imprint special messages to the UAE’s leaders at the dedicated workshop area.
Restaurants such as Al Mashowa, B’Dou Café, Sikka Café and Falla will cater to visitors craving authentic Emirati cuisine during the national celebration.
Roxy Cinemas has collaborated with The Label Theory, to design limited edition Emirati-themed popcorn boxes and bags with a stunning, modern falcon design. All proceeds from the sale of these souvenirs will be donated to Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital.
